Welcome to Waylian's World!

Greetings fellow adventurer's of Vanguard Saga of Heroes. I created this blog just to to take note of Waylian's last few months in Vanguard. Most of us already know SOE is sun setting Vanguard on July 31st, 2014. Yes it is sad but I am still playing till the plug is pulled. So with this first blog post I will give you a little back story.

Waylian Silvershaper is a Halfling Rogue of the city of Rindol Field, located in the Tursh Village chunk (zone), on the continent of Thestra, in the world of Telon created for Vanguard Saga of Heroes. I decided from the beginning that Waylian was going to be not only a Rogue but a Diplomat as well. He is kind of an eccentric but not too flashy individual with a great sense of humor. He tends to enjoy some of the finer things in life, like Chilled Pear Wine for one example. He also enjoys sitting on his front porch, smoking an elegant pipe and carving pumpkins. He does have a love interest (Quilyassa Goldweaver) which was kindled out of Waylian's Tursh Gazette: Half Feature interview being conducted the week of Valentines Day.

I created Waylian after reading a post by MortyMykk (Morty) on the Vanguard forums requesting a group for late Saturday evenings, once a week. This group was going to be for exploration, slow paced leveling to include questing and dungeon crawling. I could not join him the first week because I had to work on Sunday morning. I posted Morty back and asked how it went . He said only one other player (Jite) showed up and they decided on making Halfling characters. I was in for the second week and low and behold we had 3 more players join us for a full group of 6 Halflings. There was Mortylis (Paladin), Jite (Cleric), Waylian (Rogue), Bandobra (Disciple), Yebral (Necromancer) and Tipzy (Monk). That night we did some questing and made it halfway through our first low level dungeon Rindol Storehouse. We then decided to create a guild at the Baron's Tooth Tavern in Rindol Field which is appropriately named the Halfling Explorer Group (HEG). It was a lot of fun starting out and has continued to be a blast each week.

Now Morty decided to post a weekly journal regarding the HEG's exploits each week. These have been great. It's a good read and kinda fun to relive the moments we had that evening. You could start to see the character's personalities coming to life. Morty also came up with the Tursh Gazette: Half Feature where a Halfling reporter named Lylakk Pennstump interviews a HEG member each week or so. These have been awesome and a chance to develop a back story for our characters. They get better and better with each one. I provide a brief summary of our latest adventure on the Vanguard Forums no later than the Monday after. Then Morty's Journal is posted on Wednesday with the Half Feature being posted on a Friday. In between Waylian writes letters to his beloved Quilyassa weekly and sends a few urgent messages here and there to HEG requesting assistance for a citizens all over world of Telon. Morty has another feature containing Waylian's Letters called "The Writings of Waylian". Those letters will continued to be posted there as this blog is for Waylian's activities outside of the HEG's exploits.

On a side note the blog posts will tend to jump around in game as I tend to do. So you may read of events that already happened and a later blog post may state my progression to said event. I will try to keep it in line as much as possible.
